“Wojciech Młynarski did not describe Poland to us, he wrote it to us. We talk about her with his words.

His songs has already helped  the Poles to survive the Gomułka’s period, but today you can see how much they seem to be written yesterday. They relate to all our present fears and laughter. He has some incredible ability to embarrass reality, that feels embarrassed when it recognizes itself in Młynarski’s song. “

Wojciech Młynarski did not describe Poland to us, he wrote it to us. We talk about her with his words.

His songs has already helped  the Poles to survive the Gomułka’s period, but today you can see how much they seem to be written yesterday. They relate to all our present fears and laughter. He has some wonderful ability to embarrass reality, that feels embarrassed when it recognizes itself in Młynarski’s song.

Over time, the reality has begun to follow his descriptions and adapt to the lyrics he sang. The great example of this is the famous song “Jesteśmy na wczasach”, which mocked “dances” and “acquaintance evenings”, simultaneously becoming an indispensable point of all dancings and gave them a new impetus for life. At the same time, Wojciech Jaruzelski and Lech Wałęsa referred to the song “Róbmy swoje”: each of them wanted to “do their own”, but each one of them understood it quite differently.

And Młynarski himself did just a little bit of room for a better life for the Poles. For this “one night, half a day” because “happiness usually lasts that long”.

One of the most beautiful songs: “ Lubię wracać tam, gdzie byłem ” is like the motto of our concert.Do znajomych drzwi pukać, myśląc czy nie stanie w nich czasami ta dziewczyna z warkoczami”….

The magic of the scene makes you find “a few tones and a few poems from the times when you loved for the first time”.
