Concert in the Memory of St. John Paul II, 10th of April 2016
On 10th of April 2016, the Concert in the Memory of St. John Paul II, organised by the Mazovian Music Theatre, took place at Church of The Holiest Saviour in Warsaw. The huge audience that assembled at the concert had an exclusive opportunity to listen to:
Panis Angelicus – Cezary Frank, Rinaldo von Händel, Meditation – Jules Massenet, Ave Maria – F.Schubert, Lament Dydony – Henry Purcell, Cinema Paradiso – Ennio Morricone, Serenada – F.Schubert, Fantazja dla J.P. II – Robert Grudzień and Hymn for the Pope „Santo Subito”.
In music and poetry programme performed:
Alicja Węgorzewska – mezzo-soprano – Director of Mazovian Music Theatre
Robert Grudzień – the Organ Master
Bogdan Kierejsza – violins – Composer of music to the Hymn for the Pope
Krzysztof Cezary Buszman – poet – the author of Hymn for the Pope lyrics, who recited poems of John Paul II.
We would like to especially thank the Parish Priest of the Church of the Holiest Saviour in Warsaw for a warm welcome and help in the concert organisation. We also thank the audience that listened to the concert intently. We hope that the Holy Father rejoiced this concert with us tonight.
